Fashion Designer & Stylist Angela DeMontigny
How did you get started as a Fashion Designer and stylist? I went to college for fashion design/marketing, started my own line at the young age of 24 in Vancouver (hand painted sports wear) then moved to Toronto and worked for the Design Division of the Cdn. Apparel Federation then started my line ‘Spirit Ware in 1995. I started designing a line that was sold to boutiques and galleries across North America then decided to scale things back to Canada and focus on more custom design. As I started to work with many high profile artists, musicians, performers, etc. many of whom were performing for awards shows (I was the Head Designer for the National Aboriginal Achievement Awards for 3 years), I ended up styling them for photo shoots, music videos, awards shows and even just for performing in general. Something I love to do. I now work with a Chinese Star from the UK who I design/style for her music videos and performances. She in turn is my global Brand Ambassador for my new line and co. Young Native™ Fashion Inc. at the moment.
