Oki – Welcome to www.IksokapiMagazine.com
An online publication created for Indigenous women, by Indigenous women in North America
Oki – welcome to the April 2015 issue of Iksokapi Magazine. I want to dedicate this month’s welcome to my baby Ariel Miikka Ayoungman who celebrates her 8th birthday on April 17, 2015. She came into our world and changed our lives forever at 3:55 pm on a sunny day in 2007. I wear many hats but I have to admit that being Ariel’s mommy is my favourite. I love you baby!
IN THIS ISSUE:
IKSOKAPI PROFILE: Cree Big Plume, Tsuu Tina Nation
KIDS: Piikani Youth Forum 2015
CULTURE: Introducing Miss Blackfoot Canada 2015
I want to thank Abby Morning Bully and Piikani Nation for the invite to the Youth Forum, I really enjoyed my time with old friends Cowboy Smith and Natasha Crowshoe and sharing the publication with the youth from Piikani Nation, Kainai Nation, Driftpile First Nation and Chateh First Nation.
Iksokapi Magazine is always looking for new and emerging contributing writers and photographers so if you would like to get involved and have your work featured in Iksokapi Magazine contact us by email at: Iksokapi@gmail.com
